Biochemistry isn't a well-known profession, many people have never heard of it, even my mother often asks me what I'm studying, and when someone asks her, she says I'm studying biotechnology haha. However, the pandemic showed how important biochemistry is, around the world thousands of scientists are working tirelessly to find a vaccine, or learn more about this deadly disease. This doesn't mean that all biochemists work studying diseases, there're some who study specific proteins, or a certain cellular mechanism, some prefer to study bacteria. It's precisely for these reasons that I decided to study this career, for the different fields in which I can specialize later. I don't know if it will be my best vacation, because I enjoy vacations every year and each one has a special memory. It was in February 2018, it was the longest trip we have done so far, with my parents and my younger brother. We were going by car to Arica, but as there are too many kilometers we made many stops, the first was in La Serena, we went to the beach and visited the "Cross of the third millennium." Then, we stopped at Tocopilla whose beach had a rock barrier to simulate a swimming pool, the water is warm and ideal for small children because there are no waves.
