I believe that this pandemic has brought to light a problem in Chile that was not so evident before, such as poverty. My history teacher once told me that you are poor or rich, but that the middle class did not exist, and he asked us a question: "if you had an accident or needed an urgent operation, right at this moment, could you pay for it? If you can't, then you are poor". At that time I thought that he was wrong, that there was a difference between a poor person and someone who never lacked anything but still couldn't afford an operation. Now I understand what he meant, because in this quarantine many people were left without jobs, those who were considered middle class by the state from one day to the next lost their source of income and the only thing left is to depend on the monetary aid given by the government , which most of the time are not enough to support a family. Although this is not a problem only in our country, the health crisis brought with it a g...

Post 5: My future job

I’m a very indecisive person, the reason I decided to enter this career wasn’t because I liked it (although I definitely like it now), it was because I discarded all my other options. So I'm not very clear on what I'd like to work on, but I really enjoy my time in the laboratory, so as long as I can work on one I think I'll be fine. I wouldn’t like to travel for work,   although I wouldn’t deny myself if my work allowed me to know the world, I would prefer that my travels were only to relax, without having to worry about my responsibilities and being able to go with whoever I want, be it my friends or family, and see new places with the people I love without the pressure of working. I don't expect to become a millionaire in the future, but if I get a good paying job, that will be much better. I'm studying biochemistry and I don't really know what to specialize in yet, there is so much to choose from and I feel like I don't have enough information to make...

Post 4: Timmy

I decided to use this free themed blog to tell you about Timmy, the ghost that lives in my house. We moved into this house a little less than 15 years ago, it wasn't that noticeable at first, some weird noises at night that no one thought too much about. Then it started to become more apparent, when Timmy turned the bathroom lights on and off at night, he was so insistent that the bathroom switch went out and we had to replace it with a new one. At that time my brother was around 4 years old and he always left his toys on the floor at the foot of my parents' bed, it was then that my mother began to hear noises at night, as if someone was playing with toys, sometimes she felt like someone sat on the bed or touched his foot above the clothes. She never got up to see what was happening, she covered herself with the blankets up to her head and tried to fall asleep. It also used to bother my brother a lot, and he had a hard time sleeping, he got used to it over time or maybe young c...
